Why do tears fall when you cry for any reason? We cry only when we are upset for some reason. And when you cry, tears roll down your cheeks. These tears fall from the eyes just like that; there is no reason behind them. Mud drains tears from the eyes. But why do the tears fall from the eyes when you cry? Do other animals also cry, or only humans?
What are tears?
Tears are a combination of some water, some salts, antibodies, and some anti-microbials that are secreted from the lactimal gland, located right next to the human eye, and protect it from various microorganisms.
Tears are basically divided into three parts.
- Basal tear
- Reflex Tear
- Emotional Tear
Basal Tear
First, let's talk about basal tears. It lubricates the eyeball, nourishes it, and protects the eyeball. Some amount of tears are always required to keep our eyes moist. Such tears are always inside our eyes. It is a slippery liquid that keeps our eyes wet all the time. This is why our eyes never dry out. And this is what we call basal TEAR.
Reflex Tear
Now let's come to "reflex tears" or "resistant tears." Exposure to foreign objects such as wind, dust, and bright light causes these tears to form and protect the eye. Suppose you get sand or something small in your eyes. You will find your eyes watering. Its function is to protect the eyes from any sudden injury, pain, or object. As a result, the eyes water. This is what we call REFLEX TEAR. The main purpose of REFLEX TEAR is to completely wash away the substance that irritates your eyes with the eye fluid.
Emotional Tear
It is a mysterious tear of the human eye. Emotional tears are produced to express emotions and flow out of the eyes. Suppose you have suffered a lot for one reason or another. Or you have broken up with a loved one. Or you have seen a loved one die right before your eyes. At this time, the water that falls through your eyes to express your feelings is emotional tears.
Although these three types of tears are produced from the same source, their chemical composition varies. such as emotional tears which has a high chemical protein content. In addition, it contains a type of natural pain reliever, or enkephalino, called leucine. It is believed that it is for these reasons that one feels lighter after crying.
Research has shown that basal and flexible tears are found in different animals, but emotional tears are found only in humans. But such tears can also be found in elephants and gorillas.
When we blink, some of the fluid comes out. This prevents dry eyes. When we cry for any reason, the water that comes out of the eyes is called "tears." According to scientists, tears are normally produced from lacrimal glands located on the outer surface of the eyeball. The lacrimal gland produces tears only when people are upset.
However, tears can flow from our eyes for various reasons, such as when we pray, when we are deeply hurt, and to remove physical and human suffering. When we are hurt by the words of others, we cry for other reasons. Sometimes, even if we don't want to cry for any reason, tears come out of our eyes. When we see the scene of an accident, tears come out of our eyes. But why? At that time, our body has no control. So if we don't want to cry, tears come out of our eyes.
Again, when we cry excessively, our heads start to hurt. Because when excess tears are produced in the lacrimal gland, they flow through the nostrils. Scientists believe that excessive crying leads to the production of extra tears. Due to the fact that dehydration occurs in the lacrimal, excessive secretion causes a lot of headache.
Girls cry more than boys
Girls cry more than boys. But why do girls cry more than boys? What could be the reason for this? Scientists have studied this. According to scientists, girls cry almost twice as much as boys. This is due to various hormonal influences and some social factors. Girls cry at least 30 times a year and can go up to 64 times. And men cry 6 to 17 times a year. It is difficult to find a person who has not cried in his life. But everything in life is hidden between laughter and tears. So crying is a part of life.
